A new chapter is about to begin

The district plan is finally becoming a reality – and we look forward to bringing it to life.

The French School in Frederiksberg is now being developed into exciting housing, an exclusive city hotel, and a shop or café facing Værnedamsvej.
The project closely follows District Plan 224, which describes the upcoming construction in great detail.

The area is being developed with respect for the existing buildings by carefully renovating them, while adding modern amenities and green courtyard environments. It will become exciting housing in various sizes, designed with high-quality materials. The hotel and café will complement the already vibrant Værnedamsvej, and together they will mark the beginning of a new chapter for this charming part of Frederiksberg.

The historic walls are being brought back to life

We are developing with great respect for the area's history.

The project area for the French School includes Værnedamsvej 13a and 13b, as well as Frederiksberg Allé 22 by Sankt Thomas Plads. These buildings, constructed between 1856 and 1880, have historically been part of the amusement park Rosenlund and later served as the setting for Prince Henrik's School.

The area's history stretches even further back; Frederiksberg Allé was laid out in the early 1700s by Frederick IV, inspired by the French Versailles and the Champs Élysées in Paris. Værnedamsvej, named after the German soldier Werner Dam, who established a popular tavern in 1733, has historically been known for its pubs and butcher shops. Today, the street is a lively hub that still reflects its historical role as a social and commercial meeting place. We look forward to becoming a part of this vibrant life.
